Ready to use: each board is treated with food-grade mineral oil before shipping. We apply the first coat for you, which nourishes the bamboo and brings out the contrast of the engraving.
Care
- Hand wash in warm soapy water, then wipe and let it dry standing up.
- No dishwasher and no prolonged soaking: the bamboo could swell or crack.
- Reapply a thin coat of food-grade mineral oil about once a month, or whenever the wood looks dry or paler. Avoid vegetable oils (olive, canola, sunflower…), which go rancid over time.
- Tip: to keep the engraving intact longer, cut on the back of the board and keep the engraved side for serving.
Each piece is engraved individually: the bamboo’s natural grain makes every board slightly unique.
